Hello. Im after a set of external speakers for my ipod. Not too sure about the bose sounddock, quite like the look of the altec lansing fx6021. Anybody got any recommendations please? Ive got about 300 to spend. Than you. Apologies if this question turns up twice, my keyboard made a mad dash for freedom halfway throught the first time.

if you're into sound quality, I suggest avoiding "computer speakers" and going  for a Hi Fi separates amp and a pair of speakers (second  hand will do). The sound quality will be miles better than anything you will find in computer stores, and for not much more money. Just get a lead with 2 phono plugs at one end  (amp) and a 3.5mm jack (to plug in the ipod) at the other end.

I have bought this sort of stuff from Richer sounds (Uk) as they have offers etc.

Thanks romko. Good advice, but one thing I forgot to mention in my post was I need them to be portable, hence the 'computer speakers' option.
