I have finally got a VCR to record from a Freeview box! at last...but now have another problem, the picture is fine, but every 15 seconds there is a 5 second burst of a small buzzing type sound! any ideas please? TIA.

Try moving the scart lead(s). Sometimes if they cross another lead they create a hum.

Alternatively the noise could be signal break up. just ensure all leads are in properly.

Other than that, no ideas at all.
have you got anything like a fluorsecent lamp, washer/drier ,laptop psu or similar on the same power line - may be interference.

if you just watch the freeview thru the video on tv, do you still get it or is it just on the playback or recordings?

Yes it's there all the time, have given up again! gone back to just being able to record the original four channels, will have to wait until i find a job, get some money to upgrade to all in one box of tricks!
