When will we ever see the death of VHS?

The electrical stores are selling those combo TV and videos very cheaply and some videos even combined with DVD players thus making the VHS format shelf life a bit longer?

Many audio systems still include a cassette deck, and it's still possible to buy turntables for vinyl (for domestic, rather than "I'm a DJ") use, so I think it will be a long time until VHS disappears all together.

Also, many people have large VHS collections and can't afford to upgrade them all to DVD (assuming the discs are available - many that I own aren't!) and it is currently not easy or particularly cheap to transfer VHS to DVD.

Today, Dixon's the largest high street electrical chain have announced that they are to cease selling VHS machines - the rest won't be far behind.
