I have recently subscribed to 1TVPC which enables me to download movies (legally) to my hard drive. They are downloaded in AVI format and I have an Acer Aspire 5315 wireless laptop on Vista. I would like to transfer these movies onto DVD 1) is this legal? 2) what is the best way to do it? I have tried one or two ways with no succss and I would be grateful for any help.
Thanks for your answers.
hc4321, why do you think 1TVPC is illegal? I have googled it and they don't give it a favourable write-up, but it doesn't say anything about it being illegal
Oneeyedvic - I am not impressed with it, it takes hours for a film to download, also I was hoping to watch the Ashes Test Matches live, but I haven't managed that yet (nearly too late now)
Google for FORMAT FACTORY (Free), download and Install, convert AVI to MPEG, (much smaller file).
Google and download "FREE VIDEO TO DVD" (Free program), install and convert MPEG to DVD.
HI Denis, Start Format Factory, select VIDEO (at top left),
select MPG, Tick OUTPUT SETTING and in Profile select DVD PAL Large if living in UK, tick OK, tick ADD FILE, tick OK when added and then tick START in top menu.
Hope this helps.
Hi Wak
I don't know what I am doing wrong but I tried following your instructions, but when I pressed 'start' it came up 'fail to create AVS file'
I had set it up for MPG as you had suggested.
When I selected DVD PAL it gave a choice of small or large, I tried both but same result
