I have had a phone unlocked before , not a blackberry but I am sure it's the same principle. I took it to a shop in town that did this and paid just �10 and that was it!
Or buy the unlock code off ebay for around a fiver...they'll email you the code/instructions once payment has been made... I know someone who did this via ebay on a BB Storm and it worked fine...
i had an old phone with voda sim in it and wanted to give it to my dad who was on virgin. I contacted voda through website and they asked me for the make of the phone and for a number which could be found under the battery. They then sent me a code to unlock. Might be different if they think they are losing a customer though but worth a try - all done very quick and more importantly free!
