Problem with DVD recorder.

My Panasonic DMR EZ47VEB is on XP default, it is fine when I record in advance because I can change to EP or SP. But when I manually record, the programme stops recording before the end - I presume because with XP, there is not enough room on my DVD-RW disc. How can I change the default from XP to either EP or SP (which ever gives the longer running time). Thanks .

press rec mode before you press record.

I did this Chuck, X P default only gives me an hour recording. I phoned John Lewis and they told me over the phone, how to change from XP to SP for a longer amount of space on my DVD. Thanks anyway !
