how do i play an mp4 video on laptop?

ive been sent a little 1 minute mp4 video from a friend via email.
how do i get to play it on my computer please as it doesnt work with windows media player.

You could try downloading the relevant codecs so that Windows Media Player will work.

Or you could download this:

to get the relevant codecs for WMP download and install this..

but I personally would go with rollo's suggestion of VLC player.
