Hi can anybody tell me what thickness (or weight) of card printing companies use for business cards and can you buy it from places like staples etc., the normal card that I use is 160gsm I think and this seems a lot more flimsy than the average business card.

it's a lot more flimsy than most, I'd look at card more around the 300g/m2 area.
I don't think you will be able to get suitable card from 'normal' retailers as I agree you need about 300 g/m^2. If you could it is unlikely to get through a typical home printer anyway.

the weight of business card is 330gsm
card normally used is invitation ivory
