windows movie maker, plea for help please any ideas.

i have uploaded videos from my digital photo/video camera, just as normal not changing anything then when i got to import them in to movie maker from my video folder a error message comes up with

"\My Documents\My Videos\norfolk trip 019.avi could not be imported. The required codec was not downloaded automatically because the Download codecs automatically check box is not selected in the Options dialog box."

how can i fix this? any help greatly appreciated.

ok, now i ahve gone in to options and checked download codecs automaticaly, and i ahve restarted my computer but now it comes up with

"My Documents\My Videos\norfolk trip 019.avi cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again."
i dont get where to find and 'install' it though, well i dont even no if i ahve dowloaded it of the internet. :s

thanks onions, i ahve downloaded that and installed it, when installing it, the window with all teh check boxes in about the codecs i jsut left as default as i dont know what to do.
so i downloaded it, installed it, and restarted my computer and now when i try to import a video file on to move maker i get this

i ahve looked in options and checked the box 'download codecs automaticaly' and have gone on compatibility and its not in teh window there which i think it should be? any further help is appreciated

Install it again and check all the boxes, you won't do any damage.
