I expect thousands of you have found this - a message appearing on the ITV screen saying we have to re-scan on 30th September. Will this affect any of our programmes, and as I have Freeview on my TV and my DVD, do I somehow have to scan both of them ? My TV and DVD are both Panasonic, will I follow the same instructions for both ? Thanks all.

I suspect it will only 'affect' your programmes if you don't do it.

I guess they are re-allocating channel numbers or something.

If you have digital tuners in both your TV and DVD recorder, then yes you will have to both.
However if the DVD is just a player, not a recorder then you won't have to do that one.
They often do this and I only find out when I press a number for a certain channel and find myself watching something completely different.........I've had to auto tune mine about 10 tomes so far.....
I had that retune message tonight....but just before it I had a notice to download a new version. My question is----of what????? I did it-then a message to retune tonight-followed by the itv message.
Channels are being moved about into different Multiplexes (MUX) hence the need for a complete Re-Scan of your TV. In order to get the Channels into the same order as they appear on your TV you will have to do the same with your DVD Recorder. Just go into 'Menu' Function of TV and DVD and 'Set-up' Facility.
