My incredimail has problems which they cannot sort out... are there any similar email programmes

Is it just an email client?

If you don't want to use Outlook Express (which I don't) then Mozilla Thunderbird is free http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/

If you want another email provider, try Gmail.

They're about the best.

Would agree with fo3nix, Gmail is excellent,especially good at sorting out spam.
