I am a trying to get a web site built for my small picture retailing buisness but am struggling to get it finished. The company I am useing were recomended and I did the usual checks on the internet on their reputation.I was told that my sort of web site usualy takes 4 to 6 weeks to complete and I paid a £600 deposite. The site I want is about as simple as they come, pictures and lists, prices and payments. I purposely have cut back on frills so one would imagine that this would speed up the proccess. This all started on 17th May this year. I was unavailable for 9 weeks but I think that they could have had lots ready for my comments on my return. They send me bits and peices every now and then after heated exchanges by email. The company has not answered any phone calls since the initial contact when I asked for a quote and will only converse by email. Am I being too pushy, and if not what can I do about it?

Your first mistake was giving them £600 up front. The second was the heated exchanges.
Ask for your money back if they don't complete by a certain date which you specify. If that doesn't work, then go to trading standards.
If you only want a simple web site, have you tried to design your own???
I used a FREE D-I-Y web site builder at www.nvu.com which was sufficient for my needs.
It may have changed it\'s name since I used it but the above address still worked this morning.
You could always have a trial at building your own while sorting out the other company!!!!!!
you should get what they have done and try and get some money back of them i am a webdesigner and it should of took a month at the most my website is www.catwebdesign.co..uk you can give me a ring or email if you want any help with the current design or a new one
yes most of the companies had the same things. At initial stage they gave any policies or company procedures to you? i think u had chosen the irrelevant company. before commit any work with companies you must ask qs and clear the doubts.
