Change Vista to XP

I have a pc running on XP and a laptop on Vista.. Vista was supplied with the laptop. Can I remove it and instal XP from my disc?

No because you only have the one license for XP, so cannot install it on two computers.

If you try, and you use the same "key" on both computers you will start to get messages from Microsoft saying one or the other (or both) are "dodgy" copies and they may stop working.

Not correct.

The Microsoft EULA (end user licence) sates that you can install it on two computers as long as one of them is a mobile device (i.e. a laptop)

So yes you can install it on your laptop as well, however if it's a new laptop you may find that there are not XP drivers available for all the hardware.
Of course you can install it on your laptop. I had the same problem with my laptop and installed XP with no problems.

I can not comment on Chuck's second point, but wouldn't think that the drivers would be a problem either.
