using utorrent

If I want to use utorrent, can anyone give me a quick beginner's guide to keeping my pc safe?

I understand about seeding any downloads, but I want to keep my other files safe so how do I block access (or is this not someting to worry about? ie are files already on my pc 'hidden' from view and use by the system?)

Any help given will be gratefully received.

Utorrent ill only be able to see any files that are downloaded through Utorrent , or any file that has a valid .torrent file associated with it.

As long as you have an up-to-date antivirus program you'll be fine.

W hen your download has finished, right click on it, and open containing folder, then before opening the files, right click and choose to scan with your antivirus software.

Hi. Wickerman.
Here is a warning about U Torrents,it cost me £500 for down & uploading music this year.
They are clamping down on this so called free music.
It's certainly taught me a lesson.
