I have so many questions on the above so I will limit my plea for advice to one per day. I have installed skype on the laptop and have bought another netbook for xmas for grandaughter and will install skype on that tonight. Once installed do I have to call the netbook save the "name" in laptops contacts list then next time laptop calls netbook the call will be free, nil zooch
I have tried calling a mobile with skype installed and it costs over 60p for a couple of minutes so will come back in a further question later
When skype is installed there must be a number somewhere but where? Antiapation is killing me for a reply TIA
You have a username on Skype (hopefully not your full or proper name). When you install Skype on the other netbook you can give your granddaughter a username then search for contacts. Search for your own username.
Add that to contacts then it will be free to call Skype name to Skype name.
My in laws took a laptop on holiday to Califonia with them and were able to call frequently and even show us around the villa on the webcam. I often talk to folks in Canada and South Africa but seem to struggle with Australia.
