If it wasn't for the fact that I find the idea of sending our criminals to the armed forces abhorrent (on the basis that if I went into war I would want a committed soldier next to me watching my back, not some scumbag), I'd suggest sending him to Helmand Province for a week. Charity shops are often frequented by pensioners who will know who this lad is and will not be backwards in telling him what they think of his behaviour,I don't think that would necessarily be an 'easy option'.

To be fair Tambo, community service rarely means work in a charity shop. Those sort of positions are only aimed at those who can't do weeding/clearing/litter picking/painting because of health issues.
