firewire cable, i know one end plugs in the ieee, but what about the other end what do's it go into

one end into PC, other into whatever you are trying to connect

just like USB

thanks for your reply, i have one end in the firewire card, but the other end will not fit camera or camcorder, so i don't what it fits?.

I've not heard of a camera with a Firewire port, normally they are USB

And has your camcorder got a firewire port on it?

There are normally the 2 standard sizes of port on a cable - the larger size fits the card, the smaller the Firewire compatible device -

the smaller size will be the one that fits your camcorder (if it's got the port in the first place)

thanks for the picture, yes this is what i have, but what other compatible device do you mean?

external hard drives and camcorders are the 2 main things people connect via Firewire. Obviously both have to have the right port to be able to do it.
