Vista PC failing to boot

Hi All. I'm hoping someone can give me some advice about my problem with my Vista Home Premium PC.
When I plug my PC into the mains, the amber LCD monitor light comes on. I then press the power button on the tower and I can hear the PC starting up but the monitor light stays amber instead of turning blue as it does during a normal boot . The monitor screen remains blank. Touching keys or moving the mouse has no effect.
The fans in the PC can be heard, but there's nothing on the screen. The PC power button the tower and the reset button fail to either reboot or switch off the PC no matter if I hold them in or release them quickly. The PC has to be put off by pulling the mains plug out of the wall socket. Following a minimum of two hours without power, the PC can be plugged in again and will boot up normally. Switching the mains power switch on and off at the PC PSU at the back of the tower has no effect
Sometimes, I've seen the problem arising after I've left the PC unattended for a couple of hours. in this case, the amber light is on the monitor and the PC sounds as normal with a blank screen, but moving the mouse or pressing keyboard keys has no effect. I again have to disconnect the PC at the mains, but it fails to boot unless left off for quite a few hours.

I had initially thought this was linked to the sleep options in Vista, but I can't understand how this can be linked to the PC failing to fresh boot from cold. Yet at the same time, allowing the PC to cool does seem to get it to boot normally. As I understand it, a PC is reactivated in sleep mode by moving the keys or mouse but they have no effect.
My graphics card has two types of output connectors. The one I'm using at present is the white rectangular type with rows of horizontal pins and one vertical pin. It also has a connector for the blue type plug with 3 rows of 5 horizontal pins. The monitor will accept both types of plug. I'm reluctant to use a blue lead as it has an analogue output and I've not got one at present but could this solve the problem?
The other thing I’ve noticed is that the keyboard light and the light on the underside off the mouse remain off when the system fails to boot.

This is a monitor problem, and it is caused by a faulty parts on the power supply or the inverter board.Take a look at this tutorial to know how to repair LCD monitors.
