Why can't I receive text messages from one particular person

I have a new Nokia 6230 and use the O2 network. I seem to be able to receive texts from everybody except one friend. I can send him text messages and phone him. He can phone me ok and can text anyone else on any network (including O2) but for some reason there seems to be this one single incompatibility - he can't text me. Anyone come across this problem before and can help me out?

There sometimes can be a problem whereby if your friend opens one of your messages and hits 'reply' it will not allow him to send to certain number. If he is doing this tell him/her to go through 'compose/write message' to see if it works the normal way. Asides from that, your friend would need to contact the network provider.
