red-eye from G10

every time I photograph people with my Canon G10 they come out with red-eye - how do I stop this?

When taking photo`s of persons, ask them not to look into the lens of the camera as the flash picks out the veins in the eye causing them to look red.
The camera has red-eye reduction facility (see page 114 of manual)

The camera also has a post red-eye removal function (see page 182 of manual)
...however, if you are in the habit of photographing vampires, none of the above will help - you will have to get then to close their eyes.
thats why pro photographers bounce or reflect the flash onto the subject...not so easy with a fixed flash
