How to change from bing to google?

I have just got a new laptop with Windows 7 however bing seems to be the default search facility and I would prefer it to be google. I thought I changed it to google but when I click to open another tab, I get a page saying "what do you want to do next" and I have to click on the little house/?home button to get the option of opening with google.
Also, the search box in the top right hand corner is bing and not google.
I hope this makes sense and if it does I hope someone can help!

Goto the google home page ( http://www.google.co.uk ) and then click on tools > internet options and then click the button that says "use current" under the home page options to set your home page to google. then just below the home page settings there are the settings for tabs, click on the settings button and from the pull down menu labeled "when a new tab is opened, open" select "your first home page"

To change the search for the top right hand corner search box click on the little arrow next to the magnifying glass to the right of the search box and select "find more providers" then on the web page that comes up look for Google and click the "add to internet explorer" on the little popup that comes up make sure you have a tick in "use as default" and click OK.

Microsoft are doing all they can to make Bing the dafault on IE and it is rather difficult to change it to being Google as your default search engine.

I have Google as my home page and I always use the search area in the centre of my home page, never the search field within Internet Explorer.
