For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.as I use Vista, I'm not sure if this will help you but will give it a go anyway. First of all go to where the pictures are on your computer ie: pictures, documents etc, When you've located the picture, right click on it & from the list choose "Send To" & from the drop down menu, choose "Mail Recipient". It then gives you the option of what size picture so just choose smaller picture from the drop down box. When I first discovered this, I sent myself the picture to see how it came out!! hope this helps you.
Right click on the picture, from the menu select Send To, then Mail Recipient.
You then get a window asking if you want to reduce the size of the picture. Select Yes.
Your email program opens with the picture already attached.
This certainly works for Outlook Express but may not for other mail programs.

Another option is to Right click on the picture and select Open With.
This gives you a list of programs that could open this picture. Look down the list and see if any could be used to open the picture and edit it.
When I right click on the picture, on my menu I have Microsoft Office Picture Manager, Windows Photo Gallery, Paint and others, all of which may offer function to reduce the size of a picture.

Nothing to do with your question, but if you are on IE6 you should REALLY move to IE7 or IE8.
IE6 is full of security holes, and many companies say people should stop using it.
Also web sites have said they are going to stop supporting it so some web sites may not work on it in future.

Not an answer to your question, but why are you still using IE6?
IE8 is the latest version and your version should have been updated automatically, I would be worried that you are missing a whole load of important updates as it sounds like yours is not auto updating.
You should do a full windows update ASAP to make sure your system is fully up to date.
