Similarly, only schools can have a dot-sch domain. These domains are controlled by Nominet in UK. When it comes to getting your domain hosted, most hosting companies are not set up to cope with the unusual domain names. So certain companies have made good business by providing secure server to host dot-gov domains where these can't be hosted by the government department itself. They try their best to avoid hack attacks. crashes and down time as the customers ie govt departments will stay with them and pay them well but only if they are reliable. Hope this helps Jade
