I think i confused my question as I added quote marks in it..These came up a text. I'll try again.

I want to copy a gardening CD which contains text and pictures using xp home edition.

I would also like to copy DVDs,Queen in concert, for example using XP.

If these tasks are not possible with XP how large a download is Nero for instance.

Apologies to previous person who answered and thank you in advance for an idiots guide on how to do these tasks

I don't think this is possible in windows xp.

Nero will do what you are asking but it's not free.  You can download a trial which has all features working and it's something like 25MB i think.  Obviously you should buy the software if you want it but it is possible to 'illegally' download a full version

There are plenty of free CD burning applications available that will copy data and audio disks.Nero is not the B all and End all of burning apps.Version 6.0 doesn`t even work properly under SP2. Nero 6 works perfectly well on my machine, XP Pro with SP2.
Which function is it that you don't think works properly?

I'm not certain that other programs have the same plugins that Nero has (burning obscure file types like .shn as audio, for example) so Nero gets the thumbs up from me.
