I am trying to obtain a printer with a parallel port to take an Alpha Smart WP. The newer version ones won't work and the only one that Currys or Comet do cost an arm and a leg. Any suggestions

you could try ebay for a secondhand one. I don't think that it is possible to get a an adapter of any description. You could get a printer with infared support and then get a parellel to infared adapater.
