Just following on from a previous query I posted, does anyone know if there is an option to switch to 50HZ mode on Philips Widescreen 100HZ TVs?

Not sure why you would want to do that....

usually the 100Hz refers to the screens refresh rate (signal frame rate to the screen) this is generated internally to give a smooth crisp image

older televisions tend to run at 50hz (same as mains voltage frequency) and therefore PAL signal outputs tend to also be at 50HZ

in newer televisions this signal is automatically converted to run the screen at the faster frame rate

perhaps it would be better to explain what are you trying to achieve.

ASH

what console are you using sah ?

consoles dont run at 100hz so i guess it automatically adjusts the tv frequency when playing

the xbox has an option to run at 50 hz(uk) or 60hz(usa) - im not sure if the ps2 also has this(i doubt it)

if u r talking about an xbox then maybe yours is set to 60hz ? go in to the dashboard and set it back to 50hz and problem solved

The only reason I was asking bluegreenash was because I wanted to play shooting games on PS2 and the G-CON gun I have isn't compatible with 100HZ TVs. I know you can buy 100HZ compatible guns, but they don't work with all games. It's a shame there isn't a setting on the PS2, Mattk to alter this.
