There are no cases yet of anyone getting a virus on Mac OSX though there have been a couple of proofs in security shows. There are however trojan viruses that have been successful in a few cases, so protection is worthwhile. There are a few companies that offer Mac protection, my recommendation would be Intego Virus Barrier
