laptop not detecting sd card

all of a sudden my laptop is not recognising any sd cards that i insert into the relevent slot. these same cards work on another lappy i have tried.could it be anything to do with drivers,even tho i have not uninstalled any? thanks

Very likely a driver problem, download them again and re-install them.
