responsible for*
I believe the answer is "the mobile phone companies"
Question Author
do they do them theirselves or use a third party company, sorry i should have been more specific
There are a number of companies that are contracted to take care of the installation and maintenance of masts. The telecom providers do not service the masts themselves.
Masts nowadays are often not just used by one provider. For example Vodafone share the technology with Orange at many transmitting sites and likewise, O2 have got together with 3.
The servicing companies work in a similar fashion to BT Openreach, where they perform the maintenance on behalf of all broadband providers and invoice each provider separately when work has had to be on their network. Just like the broadband providers, Vodafone, Orange O2 etc do not have the expertise to service the masts themselves

ahh right i see, but do you know any of the names of these companies, if so that would be great
