does anyone know the settings for getting email on my iphone for a wanadoo email address? i have tried the settings i was given and get an error message every time

My phone is with vodafone and the messages are connection to server pop.wanadoo failed then connection to incoming server smtp.wanadooasl failed!!!

I had to ring my provider Virgin to ask them to set this up for me.

can you not log into your wanadoo account online and check your settings?, most providers have FAQs regarding iphone setups.

Cazz has a good link but o2 has made it very confusing. It is titled Outgoing mail servers but then titles the column Sever Address (incoming). SMTP and relay addresses are outgoing not incoming. Your Wannadoo addresses should be:
Incoming: pop.wanadoo.co.uk
Outgoing: smtp.wanadoo.co.uk
Set your mail as POP3

tried all these thanks anyway still no joy tried phoning vodafone they gave me settings which didn't work so tried orange still with no joy its driving me bats!!!!

You will need to either use vodafones outgoing (SMTP) server or make sure that you have SMTP authentication turned on, no encryption and CHAP authentication should work.

How do i find out vodafone's outgoing smtp? and how do I turn on SMTP authentication , check that there is no encryption and CHAP authentication??? Sorry to be so dim :(
