Thinking I might get a Freeview HD box. There is a Bush one at £100, or a Humax one at £180.
Anyone using either of these to get HD through their TV Aerial?
Is HD on Freeview working for you?
I had been contemplating a FreeSat box, but I would need a dish installing, how do they compare?
I would buy a Humax recorder by choice. They are the best around and fully upgradeable.
However, I would stay with Sat. You can subscribe to Sky whenever you wish, or take the free stuff. Sky will have to provide more HD material for free, soon enough.
Choices difficult. Same for everyone.
the two you mention are freesat and need a dish no hd through a normal aerial at the moment
no hd on freeview yet but its in the pipeline when analogue is switched of totally in about 3 years actually it goes off in my area next year,
sorry seems i pooped on this one !
there is hd on freeview, i read a while ago this would not be possible due to lack of bandwidth till analogue was switched off
There will be enough when they have all the channels switched to analogue.
You can get around 10 SD channels in the same space as 1 analogue channel .. if it interests.
A Sat system is really all round best at the moment.
My local transmitter is broadcasting HD channels on Freeview now. You do not need a satalite dish, you can receive them though the normal aerial. I do not have a dish at present, and do not want one if the Freeview HD is OK.
I have just had a look at your link Gromit, as I live in the Granada TV area does that mean I get Freeview HD at the moment I have a full HD telly with built in Freeview or do you need a special freeview HD receiver?
Even though you have a HDTV with inbuilt Freeview you will still need to obtain a Freeview HD Digibox as the inbuilt Freeview is not Freeview HD. It is a complete rip-off with these extra items and even though I have a similar setup with a HD ready TV and inbuilt Freeview I will not be bothering as my TV Picture is spot on anyway.
Duh, Duh, and more Duh's that's what I say !!
