dvd vcr to tv

bought a new dvd and multi scart connector but when i connect them all up the volume goes on the video

is there a knack to connecting them up or are my scart sockets knackered

Some scart connex are either IN or OUT or switchable but not both. Maybe the cable to the video is the wrong type. A quick check is the number of pins in the scart plug - if lots then probably IN and OUT. A few means IN or OUT. Have you tried swapping the cables round or adding devices one at a time - video 1st.

its the scart socket on the back of yor video....waggle it about  its not connected right
