Trying to find a lost phone using Bluetooth

Hi

I've mislaid my phone and it could be in a number of places; at work, at a friend's or just lost. I am able to send a file from my laptop at home to my phone via Bluetooth, so does that mean it is definitely within range, ie. at home with me?

Does your phone automatically accept files via bluetooth? Mine always asks if you want to accept ... Generally if your phone is detected by bluetooth then it's usually within a 10-15 metre radius, so get searching down the sofa!

Alternatively, have you tried to ring it? Daft question, but you never know ... unless it's on silent.

I set it to automatically receive files a while ago. And I have it on silent unfortunately.
So thanks, I think you've answered my question - if the laptop says it's transferring then it must be here. If it weren't here the laptop would indicate that the device is not found / in range etc.
