if it is not ur windows drive then go to "my computer" and right click on the drive and select format.
if it is the windows drive then u have to do it from dos or in the case of XP or 2000 from the setup cd when u reinstall windows which i suppose u will if u delete windows.
anyhow for more detailed help u must supply more info on how u r setup with ur harddrives
I do not wish to insult your intelligence if you already know this, as it is possible that you do not, but formatting the hard drive wipes everything off it. There are certain installation cd's that you need in addition to an operating system and office if you use word to get it all back and running again, you'll need a floppy disk that tells the computer to use the cd drive so you can install the operating system, and you will need sound and video cd's etc, and you might need the motherboard cd. I used to format computers when I was using the old 286mhz, 386mhz, and 486mhz ones, but then I only had to install dos and windows 3.1 and works, and it took about an hour. When I got my first good computer, an AMD500 preinstalled with ME someone who knows a lot about computers told me not to format it. He said it can be cleaned up and made to work better by tweaking it. I've had it for five years now, it's got tons of files on it, and I never use things like spybot, only avg. I've done a system restore a couple of times, and I've had better operating systems installed.
