Before i bought a new tv receiver I used a 'set top box' digital tv receiver which anabled all the necessary channels. Will it work in Europe - Norway specifically.

I doubt it.

Norway uses MPEG-4 for SD transmissions and the UK uses MPEG-2

Yes Heathfield. We know a licence is needed in Norway. My wife is Norwegian cityzen and owns the family home in Norway. Thanks anyhow.
