I have recently started using the Junk Email filter on Outlook 2000 and have designated several regular junk senders to be placed straight in the Deleted Items bin. This works fine but the filter is also sending other emails there which I do want. One in particular is the daily email I get from the BBC ([email protected]) and there is nothing in that address similar to those I have committed to 'Junk Mail'. Any ideas please?
You should be able to right click on the address when it is in the Junk Mail folder and click 'add to safe senders list'/. That should stop it being recognised as junk mail
I've been using a free program called "mailwasher", you run it before starting outlook & you can see any unwanted mail you are about to receive & delete it before you get it! It can be set to automatically filter unwanted mail & to bounce the mails back to sender as if you had never received them. Unfortunately it hasn't cut down on the amt of spam I get but helps to filter the good from the bad. Might be worth a try.
Thank you dafyd. Every operating system seems to be slightly different and although the bbc email isn't in my Junk Mail Senders box it was still not getting through, so I followed up on your suggestion and found that on my version of Outlook there is an EXCEPTIONS (safe senders) box. I put it in there and lo and behold it came through to my Inbox this lunchtime rather than to Deletions, as it should. Thanks again.
