Our broadband package has a 10GB limit before extra charges apply. I thought this would be plenty but have just had an email to say we've already used 8gb so far this month. I was just wondering if my daughters using Spotify is likely to use a lot of gb, as they do like to listen to music. Apart from that we only look at regular internet pages, not iplayer etc..

Depends how long they are using Spotify but an average 3 minute song uses anywhere between 3 and 30Mb depending on the encoding. 10Gb would be the same as listening to about 300 or so songs.
elizico - who do you use and if its not impertinent how much do you pay for this?
Does she pay for it, else you don't actually download the music off spotify I don't think, it just saves it to a playlist, someone may confirm this . . .
It doesn't matter if you play it or download it, it will take up the same amount of bandwidth.
aahhh, I just had a thought, i'm not very good with technology, but thanks for unconfirming what i said.

We have a Talk Surf package with BT - £19.99 a month plus line rental. This includes unlimited phone calls and 10gb a month broadband. Re. Spotify we don't pay anything, just find songs and listen!
The ads can be annoying but it's worth it.
I have unlimited Broadband with AOL for £12:99 + I have to pay for my BT line.

There are other unlimited packages (that all need a BT line) that are far cheaper.

Unless you have huge phone bills I would have thought it might be worth your while "shopping" around.

mollykins, just so you are aware.

EVERYTHING you look at or listen to on the interent is downloaded to your PC first.

It is not possible to visit a web site, watch a video on youtube, listen to a song, look at a facebook page, or anything else you do on the internet, without it being downloaded to your PC first.
"thanks for unconfirming what i said."

Nicely put :-)
