Fake DVDs
It's region 1, but seller said it was region 3. The disc is differnent from most i've seen, looks a bit like DVDR. The film has no FBI warning. I can only watch half the film.
Seller insists that it's not a fake, and offers no refund. I'm pretty peeved. How can i establish if it's a fake? Do I get the cops in? Or FACT?

I also find out that it is against the law to sell non-Region 2 DVDs in the UK, if they do not have a UK BBFC rating, so he's breaking the law on that.
I would love to get on to ebay to warn them/ask them for help, but from my ample personal exxperience of them they are the worst company on earth for serving either seller or buyer when things go wrong...they simply choose to ignore you and send out an automated reply.

There`s plenty you can do if you paid via Paypal for the item.
Firstly put a claim in against the seller through Ebay`s `Services' section under goods not received or different to that advertised which will automatically go through the Paypal system complaints procedures.
Secondly if you are sure of your ground make a chargeback claim against your credit card that you use for Paypal transactions. Your credit card company will investigate the claim also through Paypal and whilst this investigation takes place, the seller will have both his Ebay and Paypal accounts suspended, something which he really will not welcome.Even the threat of this action sometimes brings the required results.
I have been caught a couple of times by dodgy sellers and in each case have got my money back by taking these steps.
Feedback ratings are often a joke as many buyers are hesitant to leave negative feedback for fear of receiving retaliatory negative feedback in return even when they have paid promptly,a major drawback of the way the feedback system operates.
