Every time I open Google ( in Firefox ) I also get a shopper's guide on the left side which I do not want, is there a way to lose this permanently as it is becoming a pain in th a**e.

Click either "classic home" or "sign out" in the top right corner.

Download "Hide Google Options" from the following website:

http://www.seotools.com/hide-google-options/

Make sure that you download the version for firefox.
