Can anyone recommend a good mid priced flatbed A4 scanner?  I urgently need to buy a replacement for my HP 4300C which broke when it fell on the floor. Any advice about what to look out for or what to avoid?

Have you considered one of the all in one printer/scanner/copiers. We've got a Canon MP360S which does all 3, cost about �99 and is great.

Thanks spudqueen.  I recently bought an all singing all dancing printer.  If I had only known then what was going to happen I would have done that.  I therefore only require a scanner.
