Hi GillwithG,

I always have this sort of problem with Word. Although it is probably not the correct way to do it, perhaps the most easy and versatile way is to use the 'text box' (usually located on the bottom of the page - white box with A in it:

If you create two text boxes, you can centre the text in them and put the text wherever you want on the page.

The line around the box can be removed by selecting the box > format text box > line (colour) > no line.

I must be a bit of a thickie!! I found a symbol at the top of the page with an A and that allowed me to create a word/words but it went straight onto the page without a box, but I was able to create one! ARRGH Help!!

Try Insert>Text Box.
Another way would be to insert a table with two columns and a single row. Fix the column widths to each be half the page width. Remember to turn of the borders of the table unless you want boxes round the text.

Thank you all so much for your help, I have managed to sort it now, and it's almost perfect! Thanks again to you all.
