Can you get I player on your laptop in the usa

If I took my laptop to the usa and wanted to watch BBC programs on i-player would i be able to get it over there? also what about the other channels..

No, you won't be able to watch any UK channels while in the states.

Thanks CF mrs sammmo will have to watch her soaps when we get back then.
Get a slingbox. Provided you have a good internet connection you will be able to watch all your tv programmes live.
You can download a proxy program for Firefox (can't remember the name of it) and it fools the player into thinking the laptop is still in the UK. I did it in Italy and it worked fine. I needed to purchase a one month subscription (cost about a fiver). Obviously only try and watch anything using a WiFi not a data connection.
If you have a hdd and or dvd recorder record some shows just before you go and put on dvd. That will be free then!
This only works if it's just a holiday!
You can use a proxy server but it is not legal. Even though you pay your license fee it is not legal to watch the beeb abroad.
