It's just a brand name.(though it actually stands for Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture)

Sounds pretty impressive, bet that puts a few pounds on the total cost of the TV?
I've been looking at the Sony Bravia TVs, I thought they were.. reasonable value! 10% off on Amazon this weekend for most of their models.

you get what you pay for, and all that.
First think of an snappy acronym, then work up a phrase that fits - bit like:

HOLMES: Home Office Large Major Enquiry System (as opposed to Small Major or Large Minor).

UNCLE: United Nations Command for Law and Enforcement.
