I installed a bona fide 'customer service' prog which corruped my start-up programmse so badly, a techie had to come in - save everything, wipe the drive and re-install.

Now, some folders have data missing and a load of MP£'s have gone, favourites are missing although he has placed the data he took off in one big file - searching doesn't find them.

So - is this info gone for ever, or is it lurking in there, and another techie could recover it all and put everything back how it was?

I'm happy to pay - if it's feasible?

Can't you just put them back on from your latest backup?
Recuva might help.
