Just a quickie,
I have a great little printer, its a laserjet hp1005. Would it be expensive to convert this to colour?

hi chuck technie king, if you say it is, then thats it then.
just wondering why its impossible, commercial reasons? hp would prefer you to buy a colour printer..
i just assumed you could change the spool to colour, ah well thats that.
Colour laser don't just have 1 colour toner cartridge in them, they have 4 separate toners, 1 black, 1 yellow, 1 magenta and 1 cyan. so to start with 4 toners into a space designed for 1 single toner isn't going to fit.

also the whole printer is designed to be black and white so it wouldn't understand what colour even is.
Just buy a colour printer. Keep the hp for text document printing if you are pleased with it.

ttg, wud love to get a colour printer, but have no room, as i live in a tiny flat here in madrid
Would you try and convert your Black & White TV to colour?
That would probably be easier!

its interesting, i used to have an all in one printer, scanner, it had two cartridges, one was colour, and the other black&white, its a pity the laserjet 1005 didnt have this setup
