virgin media box

hi all, recently we had virgin media took out, in the bedroom we was using an old tv box still to pick up freeview as it was easier to do so than route an aerial into the room.
last night on the box it says AP:52, what does this mean??

but can't you just use it for terrestrial tv without the smart card

it says this with no smartcard inserted.
