Hi
On my laptop for the last year I had AVG and Avast running together side by side no problems at all. Then I got notification that Avast was due to expire soon and that i needed to upgrade AVG giving me the option to continue using the free version. My friend came and installed AVG 11 for me no probs and uninstalled Avast. Later that night I reinstalled a new 30 days trial version of Avast. That was all very well too i restarted the laptop last night as requested and no probs was using it all ok. This morning I went to put the lap top on it fired up ok but the screen has frozen I cant do a thing it won't even let me turn it off in the conventional way. I cant get in to do a system restore I cant even open a word document just nothing. I am having to turn it of by the main on/off button which cant be good. I am in the middle of a big assignment for work and i foolishly have not backed that up, please don't tell me i am going to have to the laptop wiped. Incidently i have IE6 and firefox, running on XP some sites run better on firefox that IE. All help greatfully recieved.
TIA x
