New Laptop

Good Afternoon.. I am a silver surfer and know very little about computers. I have recently purchased a Toshiba Laptop and my home page has been set to Google. When I have finished with a search engine and want to go back into Google I back space in the left hand corner of the sreen but the search engine does not clear the only way out for me to start again is to highlight and delete, where am I going wrong please?

Go onto Google Moll .............. then (top right) Tools ............... then Internet Options ...........
click on Use Current where it says Home Page ............. then click Apply :o)

............. ahhh ........... I think I've misunderstood ............. your Homepage is already set to Google ............... then just click on the House icon (Homepage) on the toolbar.

If I've read that correctly, Auntie, you don't seem to be using the 'Home' button to access your home page. (Unsurprisingly, that's what it's there for!). Click on the 'little house' icon and that will take you to your home page. (Alternatively, press Alt and m simultaneously.

To go back to homepage, click on 'Home' or just close up. It will start at the homepage again .. (whatever is set as the home page)

For Info: R.Click on the Back button and select any previously browsed pages you see.

Builder is correct to actually 'set' the Home Page.

My Dad is the local (village) expert at MS Office and formatting .. I began teaching him 6 years ago ..
He is 78 this month ; )
