It is a MarketScore (used to be called Netsetter) web accelerator program that pupports to increase browsing speed - at the expensive of collecting marketing information about users. Some folk claim it causes occasional problems, and by and large is not something that everyone needs. http://www.marketscore.com/

I discovered it is a program for processing checks and credit cards. I don't know why it is running on my computer, but it causes a crash whenever I shut down.
