There is a rumour that Bush are part of Alba
guess who owns them - no less than Argos.
Possibly both are owned by Argos
Question Author
lol, dt, thats not good is it ;)
yes Alba is in there too with Argos.......unfortunately - probably means that they are both not made in the UK (like Bush had some production in Plymouth, I think) but more like Latvia, Kazakhstan or Borneo.
If it is of any help, there are some phone numbers for them in the back of the Argos Catalogue.
The numbers are for Bush Floorcare, Bush Television, Bush Whitegoods and Bush other products.

yep, I bought a tv which has broken down after exactly a year, made in korea..
Question Author
thanks winner, I will have a look at them tomorrow morning
North or South Korea, cazz? Wouldnt count your Argos chickens at the moment if the former....
The number for Bush Television is shown as being: 0845 6040105
As has been partially indicated, Bush, Alba, Argos, Homebase and Chad Valley are all part of the Home Retail Group.

Support for Bush products is usually through Argos:

thanks guys x
Try here Cazz as they seem to have bought the rights for Alba, Bush etc.
It's a very grey area as Bush went bust many years ago and only the name exists.

thanks red, im on their case tomorrow!
Many years ago we had TVs and other electrical equipment MADE in the UK (believe it or not)

These were well known UK makes such as Goodmans, Bush and many more.

One by one these companies went bankrupt (as the japaneese started to make everything) and often the only thing of value left was the company name.

These company names were bought up (Comet bough Goodmans for example) but now all they are is "badged" products made by no-name companies in the far east.

They keep these old names, Goodman, Bush etc because people have heard of them so think they must be "good", but the link with the old UK companies are long gone and all the company names are used for is a label to stick on a TV or other piece of electrical equipment made in Korea or whereever.
